Since 2002, Gentle Hands Midwifery has been providing authentic, individualized midwifery care, balancing the age-old wisdom required to attend families during labor with just enough modern technology to ensure the safety of parent and baby. In our work as midwives, we employ such tools as gravity, immersion in warm water, a supportive environment, the freedom to move, and patience.
Labor and birth, while being basic bodily functions, have the potential to be shockingly beautiful experiences, filled with intimacy and triumph. It is our work as midwives to hold the space for the particular patterns of each family’s birth as it unfolds, stepping in to intervene as necessary.
